Workshop Agenda

Introduction to course: Review of Radiation Safety, Needle Safety, Laboratory Safety and Compliance, and an Opportunity to Discuss Pre-Workshop Material

Scott Rigdon MSN MPH DNAP CRNA NSPM-C

KJ Wallen DNP CRNA

Objectives

Examine and discuss radiation safety, needle safety, Lab safety and compliance the technological underpinnings of clinical radiofrequency technology.

Discuss and review the pre-workshop didactic material

Description: This CEU content will be the course introduction, review of online content, webinar content and to ensure a common understanding of the overall plan is conveyed.

Cadaver Lab:

Hands on needle placement of lumbar sympathetic block needle placement, optimization and troubleshooting Fluoroscopic imaging with cadaveric and simulation models.

Scott Rigdon MSN MPH DNAP CRNA NSPM-C

KJ Wallen DNP CRNA

Objectives

Demonstrate the step wise approach to identifying and placing lumbar sympathetic block needles to their terminal trajectory.

Demonstrate the step wise approach to terminal lumbar sympathetic block needle placement, sensory/motor testing, nerve lesioning and trouble shooting.

Demonstrate and understanding and proficiency in lumbar sympathetic block needle placement and ablation machine utilization using cadaveric tissue and simulation models

Description: This CEU content will specifically focus on optimized lumbar sympathetic block trajectories, evaluation of placement, troubleshooting common and uncommon occurrences during the block placement process.

Cadaver Lab

Hands on needle placement of cervical sympathetic block needle placement, optimization and troubleshooting Fluoroscopic and Ultrasound imaging with cadaveric and simulation models.

Objectives

Demonstrate the step wise approach to identifying and placing hip sensory distribution (Obturator/Femoral) block needles to their terminal trajectory using both Fluoroscopic Guidance and Ultrasound Guidance.

Demonstrate the step wise approach to terminal RFA needle placement, sensory/motor testing, nerve lesioning and trouble shooting.

Demonstrate and understanding and proficiency in RFA needle placement and ablation machine utilization using cadaveric tissue and simulation models.

Description: This CEU content will specifically focus on optimized lumbar sympathetic block trajectories, evaluation of placement, troubleshooting common and uncommon occurrences during the block placement process.

Working Lunch: Managing post sympathetic block issues from procedural intervention to follow up. Focus on intra-procedural medication utilization to post procedural management.

Scott Rigdon MSN MPH DNAP CRNA NSPM-C

KJ Wallen DNP CRNA

Objectives

Discuss post sympathetic nerve block adverse events from a case-based approach

Examine and discuss the current pharmacological interventions and treatments related to sympathetic block adverse events.

Description: This CEU content will focus on case-based management of sympathetic block patients.

Hands on Physical Exam Lab: Evaluating and detecting sympathetic mediated pain and pathology, establishing a working diagnosis, and making NPSM interventional decisions.

Scott Rigdon MSN MPH DNAP CRNA NSPM-C
